THE SOUND OF ADVENTURE

Cities and Memory has partnered with Exodus Adventure Travels to mark their 50th anniversary with a very special project exploring the world of adventure through sound. 

The Sound of Adventure is a global exploration in sound of the sense of adventure you feel when experiencing a place for the first time. 

We commissioned 12 field recordists to capture the soundscapes of a dozen travel destinations all over the world. Those recordists headed out to record incredible soundscapes, which were offered up to 12 specially-selected artists to develop compositions that expressed what travel and adventure meant to them – with stunning results.

The sounds are arranged in pairs – first the field recording, and then the composition built from that soundscape.
